Here’s a song that I just LOVE from Laura Story ~ Blessings

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things.

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
But long that we’d have the faith to believe.

‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home,

‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise?

Here is another one of my favorite songs.  This one is written by Mac Lynch and is published by the WILDS.  This song is such a reminder to me when I feel like things are falling apart, that it’s not me.  It’s not my strength that gets me through each day and each trial, it is only by His strength that I am able to make it through each day with a smile on my face and a kiss for Grace.  You can click here to hear this song.

He Is My Strength

Though the road ahead may be uncertain,
Though the path we travel be unknown,
Our God has given an assurance,
We can have peace, we can have joy, we can be strong.

He is our Strength, He is our Fortress,
We can be sure we are secure within His hand,
He is our Joy, our Hope of Life Eternal,
He is the Rock, the Solid Rock on which we stand.

Even when I cannot see tomorrow,
His Word is like a Lamp unto my feet,
and when the laughter turns to sorrow,
In His embrace, we find His grace when we are weak.

He is our Strength, He is our Fortress,
We can be sure we are secure within His hand,
He is our Joy, our Hope of Life Eternal,
He is the Rock, the Solid Rock on which we stand.

And when the storms of life surround me,
And when the winds of sorrow blow,
I will hold on to the Rock of Ages for I know, this one thing I know.

He is my strength, He is my fortress,
I can be sure I am secure within His hand,
He is my Joy, my Hope of Life Eternal,
He is the Rock, the Solid Rock on which I stand.

He is my Joy, my Hope of Life Eternal,
He is the Rock, the Solid Rock on which I stand.

He is the Solid Rock on which I stand.

I love this song.  Our ladies group at church sings this song and it’s just beautiful.  The words and music are both by Betsy Kistler and it’s published by New Song Music.

When my way seems dark and drear and the future I don’t know,
My heart feels so empty as the tears unending flow.
When my heart breaks with sorrow and a tempest fills my soul,
This one thing I know for sure: My God is in Control.

His way is perfect, HIs way is perfect.
Though I don’t understand His wise and loving plan,
His way is perfect.  His way is perfect.
Take my life and make a vessel purified.
God makes no mistakes; His way is best.

When the toils of life are come and my heart is worn with care,
I faint ‘neath the burden of a cross I cannot bear.
When the joy has departed  from my sorrow stricken soul,
This one thing I know for sure: My God is in control.

His way is perfect, His way is perfect.
Though I don’t understand HIs wise and loving plan,
His way is perfect.  His way is perfect.
Take my life and make a vessel purified.
God makes no mistakes; His way is best.

WOW- This one thing I know for sure: My God is in control.

This song says it all…….

There are days that I wouldn’t make it though if I didn’t remind my self that God is in Control…..He doesn’t make mistakes…..His way is best.

I grew up in a Christian home and my faith has been a part of our lives since before I was born, my mother was praying for me.  At the beginning of time, God knew every detail about me and what would happen in my life.  As our Father, God does not want bad things to happen to His children, but sometimes God allows us to go through things to have a deeper understanding of a situation so we can reach out to help other people.  Sometimes God allows us to go through things so that we will be closer to Him, and more like Him.  No matter what, God allows us to go through things in life so that He will be glorified.

Through my journey, I have definately grown closer to God.  I used to find myself taking church services for granted, they were a formality to begin my week.  Not anymore.  I sing louder, I reflect on the words I sing, I worship deeper, I have a new enthusiasm and appreciation for my faith and my God.  If God never gave me another blessing in my life, what He has done for me through this entire situation, His protection, His provision, (not to mention Him dying for me on the Cross) is enough for me to serve Him faithfully the rest of my life.  God has not only saved my soul, but He has spared my life.  All the Glory for what has happened in my life belongs to God alone.  Without Him, I would have given up long ago.  His way is perfect.

This song is based on Psalm 139:1-12 and is written by Mac Lynch, published by the WILDS.

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
 2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
 3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
 4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
 5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
 7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

My God Is Near

Make me know your presence Lord, the King of Glory here.
You know each thought and action, hope, anxiety and fear.
How can I hide from Thee?  Can darkeness hide iniquity?
Oh how can I unfaithful be, when You are very near to me?

When God is near, all the world seems far away.
When God is near, every fear is set aside.
When God is near, how can I stray? How can I falter?
I’ll stay upon the altar, I know my God is near.

Make me know Your presence Lord, when I feel so alone.
You know each trial and testing pain, the hurt that is unknown.
Oh, why can I not see Your hand so firmly guiding me?
Oh how can I untrusting be, when You are very near to me?

When God is near, all the world seems far away.
When God is near, every fear is set aside.
When God is near, how can I stray? How can I falter?
I’ll stay upon the altar, I know my God is near.

I love the strong lyrics of this song, of how the author cries out to God from the depth of his soul.  The words are beautiful.  It’s a beautiful  even to read as just a poem or a prayer, but when you actually hear the song, it touches your heart and soul.

Ok, so I PROMISE that every other post won’t be a song…..but as I mentioned before, I LOVE music, and we know that spiritual songs are an effective tool to help our hearts heal, so I pray that the songs I’ve shared will bless you as they have me.

He Knows My Fiery Trial

By Mary Lynn Van Gelderen and Sandy Walker Smith

Though He should slay me, I’ll trust in Him,
His way is never wrong.
In darkness I will praise His name.
He is my strength and song.

For He knows my fiery trial;
He knows the way I take,
His glory shall be seen,
and He makes no mistake.

God sees my ways and counts my steps,
He hears my silent cry. My heart is fixed;
I trust in Him, I need not ask Him why.

For He knows my fiery trial;
He knows the way I take,
His glory shall be seen,
and He makes no mistake.

My faith and hope are in the Lord,
My refuge and high tower.
In quietness and confidence,
shall be my strength this hour!

For He knows my fiery trial;
He knows the way I take,
His glory shall be seen,
and He makes no mistake.

I especially love the first and second verses.  I don’t know what trials these ladies went through, but you can see their deep faith and trust in God through this song.  We all face trials in life, and  at some point, we face fiery trials……no matter what we face, we can rest in these words…..

“He knows my fiery trial; He knows the way I take, His glory shall be seen, and He makes no mistake.”

No matter what your hurt, pain or trial is, God KNOWS what it is and He is there for you.  I pray that He will show His glory in your life and that you will see that He is not making a mistake in your life.

Bow The Knee

Here is another song I love…..I hope it will be a blessing to you.  A Dusty Frame posted this awhile back with the link to hear the song…..Here it is for you.  Please take a moment to listen to it if you’ve not heard this song before.  Feel free to share how this song has blessed you.

BOW THE KNEE

There are moments on our journey following the Lord
Where God illumines ev’ry step we take.
There are times when circumstances make perfect sense to us,
As we try to understand each move He makes.
When the path grows dim and our questions have no answers, turn to Him.

Chorus:
*Bow the knee;
Trust the heart of your Father when the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee;
Lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the One who holds eternity.
And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan,
In the presence of the King, bow the knee.

There are days when clouds surround us, and the rain begins to fall,
The cold and lonely winds won’t cease to blow.
And there seems to be no reason for the suffering we feel;
We are tempted to believe God does not know.
When the storms arise, don’t forget we live by faith and not by sight.

*Bow the knee;
Trust the heart of your Father when the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee;
Lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the One who holds eternity.
And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan,
In the presence of the King, bow the knee.

You can listen here to a ladies group singing it.

Here is another BEAUTIFUL song I love to sing: “When God Is Silent”  By Jeanine Drylie, published by the WILDS.  You can listen here

When God is silent and we don’t know the way before us that we ought to go; When we’ve attempted to do His will, and yet His silence continues still.

Then it’s time to trust! Yes, it’s time to remember that the LORD is faithful to His own.
If we hope, we shall yet be praising once again, for his silence never means that we’re alone!

When God is silent and all seems lost, as o’re the waves our boat is tempest tossed;
When answers fail us and doubts arise, but God seems distant, hid from our eyes!

Then it’s time to trust! Yes, it’s time to remember that the LORD is faithful to His own.
If we hope, we shall yet be praising once again, for his silence never means that we’re alone!

I LOVE this song!  I love both verses of it, but especially the last line of the chorus “For His silence NEVER means that we’re alone!”

Sometimes we face dark times in our lives.  Things happen that we never thought we’d go through.  Sometimes we get hurt by friends or family, we get in over our heads, we have more bills than we have money, sometimes we face sickness or even death.  It doesn’t mean that God has forsaken us, left us or doesn’t love us, it means that it’s time to put our faith into action, be patient and trust God……”For His silence never means that we’re alone.”
